Puncture

The place where it feels prickly, uncomfortable, a bit painful...is where the wound healing is being called for lives. It is calling our attention, beckoning our awareness of the internal work that is needed in that area. Unresolved traumas, hurts, disappointments, guilt, etc. linger on, creating unease until we finally muster the courage to acknowledge their presence and say to them, "I see you!".

Facing one's hurts and wounds is by no means easy...in fact, it's a daunting and difficult proposition. But, the only way to heal oneself is to shine the light of conscious awareness on the area needing attention. Bringing the deeply shadowed injury into the light and sitting with the hurt...the only path out. No amount of bandaging through denial, substances, or false beliefs can ever replace the light of truthful acceptance.

Does it hurt?...yes. Will it be difficult?...probably. Is it a gradual process?...most likely. But, what seems insurmountable at first becomes more tolerable with practice. The hurt lessens, the pain subsides, and the weight lightens. In time, those emotional traumas start to feel less overwhelming, less consuming.

Those places of unease and pain are our teachers, pointing us to the healing that we each deserve and owe ourselves...if we dare to face them with earnestness, honesty, and courage.
