Spinning

Image
The conscious mind, constantly turning and filled with a myriad of thoughts. It can feel like an endless cacophony of noise, drowning out our spirit and crushing our peace. To be still, quiet, and at rest...what a gift! But, how do we achieve this state of being? Living in this 3-dimensional existence requires that we use our cognitive functions to survive. But, there is higher wisdom that we can tap into, if only our minds can be quieted and we listen with our intuitive ears. That place where the mind is quiet and the soul can feel at rest is where our cosmic connection can come through. Inspiration, insights, wisdom, and creativity are gifts that we can receive from "out there" when we can get our internal spinning to cease for a while. The transition from doingness to beingness can be challenging, as our mind wants to stay active and in control. But, the state of tranquil stillness is precisely what we should seek often, in order to nourish ourselves and allow intuitive ...

Puncture

The place where it feels prickly, uncomfortable, a bit painful...is where the wound lives, where healing is needed. It is calling our attention, beckoning our awareness of the internal work that is needed in that area. Unresolved traumas, hurts, disappointments, guilt, etc. linger on, creating unease until we finally muster the courage to acknowledge their presence and say to them, "I see you!". Bringing the deeply shadowed injury into the light and sitting with the hurt...the only path out. No amount of bandaging through denial, substances, or false beliefs can ever replace the light of truthful acceptance. Does it hurt?...yes. Will it be difficult?...probably. Is it a gradual process?...most likely. But, what seems insurmountable at first becomes more to...

Emissions

Image
What we think, say, and do emanates out into the universe. Ripples of energy reverberate out from ourselves, interweaving into the fabric of consciousness we share with others. At times, we may feel as though we are isolated, alone, or disconnected from the tapestry of life. But, matter is energy, and thoughts are also energy, pulsating outward from our radio tower, transmitting from the station of the mind. So, the pertinent question then is: What sorts of signals are we ejecting out into the universe? Are they positive or negative, uplifting or draining, helpful or toxic? I think that is the pivotal endeavor for any self-aware person. If we are affecting our neighborhood, our city, our country, our world by our own thoughts and actions, what is the net effect? Like emissions from a power plant, vehicle, or industrial factory, ours is a byproduct of what we are using to fuel our internal processes. Cleaner fuel equates to improved emissions. Regulating and monitoring our inner w...
