Emissions

What we think, say, and do emanates out into the universe. Ripples of energy reverberate out from ourselves, interweaving into the fabric of consciousness we share with others. At times, we may feel as though we are isolated, alone, or disconnected from the tapestry of life. But, matter is energy, and thoughts are also energy, pulsating outward from our radio tower, transmitting from the station of the mind.

So, the pertinent question then is: What sorts of signals are we ejecting out into the universe? Are they positive or negative, uplifting or draining, helpful or toxic? I think that is the pivotal endeavor for any self-aware person. If we are affecting our neighborhood, our city, our country, our world by our own thoughts and actions, what is the net effect?

Like emissions from a power plant, vehicle, or industrial factory, ours is a byproduct of what we are using to fuel our internal processes. Cleaner fuel equates to improved emissions. Regulating and monitoring our inner world of mental schema, perspectives, and biases takes effort and intention, no doubt. If we want better output from our thoughts, words, and deeds, then we need better input.

The work of honestly evaluating our own traumas and shadows can feel daunting. But, the road to light often goes through darkness first. By facing our own darkness directly, we can see it clearly, with empathy and self-compassion. Then, by releasing those aspects of our inner mental world that do not serve our highest good, we become free, liberated from the chains of the ego-mind.

Cleansing our multi-faceted cognitive/emotional/psychological mechanisms creates better fuel for our thoughts and feelings. This, in turn, changes how our emissions radiate out into the cosmos of conscious life.
